Welcome to Idlescape! These rules apply everywhere you play or talk with other players: in the game, in in-game chat, and in our official community spaces such as our Discord server. By playing Idlescape or taking part in those spaces, you agree to follow them. They form part of our Terms of Service; where the two conflict, the Terms govern. Our goal is to provide a fair, friendly, and enjoyable environment for everyone.
1. Follow the Terms of Service
These rules work alongside our Terms of Service, and both apply in the game and in our community spaces.
- Do not promote, discuss, or encourage activities that break these rules or the Terms of Service.
- Staff may take action on rule violations wherever they happen, in the game or in our community spaces.
- Do not discuss or promote exploits, cheating methods, or rule circumvention.
2. Be Respectful
Treat all players with courtesy and respect.
The following are strictly prohibited:
- Harassment or bullying
- Hate speech, racism, discrimination, or slurs
- Personal attacks or targeted hostility
- Flaming or excessive trolling
- Threats of any kind (including DDoS, violence, doxxing, or intimidation)
- Encouraging self-harm or abusive behavior
Zero-Tolerance Policy: Severe violations may result in an immediate mute or permanent ban without warning.
3. Appropriate Names & Profiles
Your username, guild name, and anything else other players can see (including your profile picture, nickname, and status in our community spaces) must remain appropriate.
Not allowed:
- Offensive, hateful, discriminatory, or obscene content
- Graphic or explicit content
- Impersonation of players, Staff, or other individuals
If you need to ask whether a name is acceptable, it probably isn't.
4. Account Responsibility
You are responsible for the security and actions of your account.
- Sharing, lending, buying, selling, or transferring accounts is forbidden.
- Evading a ban or mute through another account or platform is prohibited.
- Any actions performed on your account remain your responsibility.
- If your account is compromised due to poor security practices, Staff are not responsible for any resulting losses or punishments.
5. No Cheating, Exploits, or Automation
Fair play is required at all times.
The following are prohibited:
- Bots and scripting tools
- Cheats or hacks
- Automation tools
- Exploiting bugs or unintended mechanics
- Encouraging or assisting others in cheating
Any discovered bugs or exploits must be reported to Staff immediately.
6. Scripts & Third-Party Tools
Only cosmetic or informational modifications are permitted.
Not allowed
Any script, extension, program, or modification that:
- Automates gameplay
- Sends requests to the game server
- Performs actions on behalf of the player
- Provides gameplay advantages
Allowed
Visual or informational modifications that do not interact with the server, such as:
- XP/hour displays
- Resource tracking
- UI improvements
- Buff timers
- Cosmetic interface changes
Staff reserve the right to determine whether a tool is allowed.
7. Trading & Economy
All trading must remain fair and legitimate.
The following are prohibited:
- Real-world trading (RWT)
- Trading items, services, money, or assets from outside the game
- Cross-game trading
- Market manipulation
- Creating multiple accounts to manipulate the referral program
Staff may review suspicious trades at their discretion.
8. Keep Chat Organized
Use chat channels for their intended purpose, both in the game and in our community spaces.
- Stay on topic.
- Use the correct channels for trading, support, and general discussion.
- Report issues through the proper channels or the ticket system on our Discord.
- Do not unnecessarily ping Staff members.
Moderation is the responsibility of Staff. Report problems rather than attempting to enforce rules yourself.
9. No Spam or Advertising
Do not disrupt conversations.
Examples include:
- Repetitive messages
- Excessive emojis
- Excessive capitalization
- Flooding channels
- Repeated requests for free items
- Unwanted self-promotion
Advertising or promoting other communities, servers, products, or services without approval may result in disciplinary action or a ban.
10. Language Policy
English is the primary language of in-game chat and our community spaces. Where a built-in translator is available, you may use any language.
- Occasional use of other languages is acceptable.
- Staff may ask conversations to return to English when necessary for moderation or community engagement.
11. Mature & Illegal Content
The following are prohibited:
- Pornographic or explicit content
- Graphic or disturbing content
- Illegal activities or discussions
- Pirated content
- Malicious software or scams
- Links to prohibited content
Keep Idlescape safe and appropriate for all players.
12. Staff Decisions
Staff are responsible for enforcing these rules.
- Respect Staff decisions.
- Do not publicly argue disciplinary actions.
- If you disagree with a decision, contact Staff privately or open a ticket on our Discord.
- Abuse or harassment of Staff may result in additional penalties.
13. Reporting Violations
If you witness rule-breaking:
- Report it to Staff.
- Use the ticket system on our Discord where applicable.
- Do not publicly harass, shame, or target offenders.
Knowingly assisting or protecting rule-breakers may result in punishment.
14. Final Clause
These rules are not exhaustive.
Staff reserve the right to take action against behavior that harms the community, even if it is not explicitly listed above.
Common sense applies. If an action is clearly unfair, disruptive, harmful, or intended to bypass the spirit of the rules, it may still result in moderation action.
